How does SEO work?

This is a two part process:

On page optimization is when a website’s coding and content is optimized with keywords for the Search Engines to read. Each SEO campaign starts off with a keyword analysis to determine the most relevant, high traffic keywords to optimize. We put a lot of effort into researching keywords using statistical data such as search volume and competitor research. This stage is called “on page” because the optimization is applied directly to the website itself. This tune-up phase takes approximately 4 weeks for most websites and consists of changes such as title and meta updates, header updates, keyword density insertions, keyword based navigation systems, sitemap creations, code clean up and much more.

Off page optimization refers to all of the marketing efforts that take place outside of the physical website. Off page optimization also revolves around the keywords that were selected in the keyword analysis phase. We embed these keywords into offsite blogs, articles, social networks, press releases and quality link-backs. Every link-back that points to the website counts as a vote to the Search Engines. The more votes the website gets, the higher the website will rank.

Is keyword ranking guaranteed?

We cannot guarantee rankings. In fact, Google states that “No one can guarantee ranking results on Google”. Although rankings are inherently unstable and fluctuate based on a variety of factors, we have a proven track record of producing first page results. We typically produce first page ranking for local keywords within 3 to 6 months. National keywords can take anywhere from 6 months to 1 year for first page ranking results.

Once I get to the top, do I need to continue SEO?

Without continual optimization, the website will lose ranking. This is due to other online competitor’s who are constantly optimizing their websites. Eventually, a competitor’s website will take the place of your website’s ranking. First page rankings are extremely competitive and sought after. It’s important to grow and maintain ranking on a regular basis.
